HBO has released a new documentary centered around Billy Joel and arrived this summer. Director Susan Lacey and Jessica Levin Billy Joel: And it goes It will premiere on HBO before it can be streamed on Max.
The two-part documentary is called the “spread portrait of life and music” of the iconic songwriter and pianist, and is set to explore “the love, loss, and personal struggles that promote his songwriting.” Because Tom Hanks is listed as an executive producer, Billy Joel: And it goes It teases “unprecedented performances, home movies, unprecedented access to personal photos, and extensive one-on-one interviews.” ”

“I think this two-part film is both a revelation and a surprise,” Lacey said. Jane Fonda from Act 5. “I was attracted to him as someone who had little knowledge of his story in the beginning, and I was amazed at how autobiographical his songs were and how complicated his story was.”

Shortly after announcing the 2025 tour, Joel postponed several scheduled dates, citing recent surgery and subsequent recovery. The tour, featuring special guests Stevie Nicks, Sting and Rod Stewart, is scheduled to kick off in July. Grab your ticket here.
