Actor and producer Tom Cruise receives the BFI Fellowship, the highest honor of the British Film Institute.
The fellowship will host a cruise at a BFI Chair Dinner in London on May 12th, hosted by BFI Chair Jay Hunt.
The actor will take part in a conversation at BFI Southbank on May 11th, with a month-long program of his repertoire performing throughout the month at both Southbank and BFI IMAX.
“I am truly honored to receive this approval,” Cruz said.
“I’ve been making films in the UK for over 40 years and have no plans to stop. There are extremely talented professionals, including actors, directors, writers, crews, and some of the most stunning places in the world.”
In addition to his four-year acting career, the fellowship acknowledges Cruz’s defense of his film experience and contributions to the UK film industry. Mission: Impossible Country functions.
“Tom has brought a lot to the UK as a producer by choosing to make many of his films on our shores, where he is welcomed by our crew as he step up to make his cinematic vision a reality,” Hunt said.
“In doing so, he supports our studio, puts our place on the world stage, creating jobs in the process and inspires the next generation of film talent.”
Cruise’s early career saw him break through the role in Dangerous business, Top Gun and Rainman. He has been nominated for three acting Oscars Born on July 4th (1990), Jerry Maguire (1997) and Magnolia (2000).
