In season 1, episode 8, Benjamin “Dex” Pointexter escapes prison during a violent breakout, using his teeth as a weapon. However, the above picture could confirm that he survives the upcoming finale and returns to Season 2.
Bethel’s Return shows a change in the show’s creative direction. Previous versions of the storyline did not appear to include plans for Bullseye to return or confront Matt Murdoch again. In the updated story, Bullseye appears to be set as a key antagonist for the upcoming season.
Speaking about Time Jump, Bethel previously added, “The show doesn’t pick up the day after the last time you see it. We’ll pick it up five years later,” adding, “whether those stories are necessarily on screen or not… there’s a bit of an extra life out there.”
In reborn season 1, authorities move Dex to a general population prison. He appears to have taunted Matt to knock his teeth out, and uses it to escape from prison. During the conflict, Dex revealed who hired him from outside the prison and claimed he thanked Matt after the blow. After fleeing, he attempts to assassinate Mayor Fisk at the Gala, but Daredevil intercepts the attack and takes a bullet.
The new season will resume production, and season 1 will approach conclusion. The series stars Charlie Cox, Vincent Danofrio, Margarita Levieva, Jenny Walton and Michael Gandolfini, with Dario Skuldapin working as a showrunner.
