Kyle Meredith sat down with Sofia Carson, Kyle Allen and Sebastian de Souza to talk about their new Netflix movie Lifelist. Despite the premise that a grieving daughter has completed a bucket list for her late mother, the film has been a heartwarming and pleasant journey. “It could have been a real disappointment for the film, but we had so much fun making it,” Carson said, giving credit to director Adam Brooks for setting the tone. The trio discusses filming in New York, how the city itself became a character in the film, and how Brooks curated the soundtrack that made the story come true. Carson took piano lessons and mastered “Clair de Rune” for pivotal scenes. Meanwhile, Allen talks about his longboard commute and how the energy of his character’s Labrador comes naturally, and De Souza reveals his unexpected double life as a novelist, much to the surprise of his co-stars.
Patrick Ewing even made a memorable appearance in the film, and Carson recalls the surreal experience of shooting basketball with legendary players, saying, “He was so sweet and patient, though it took him about nine times to make that basket!”
