Rapper Sean Kingston And his mother Janis Starnerreports say he was found guilty of wire fraud and conspiracy following a federal trial in Broward County, Florida.
Born in Miami and raised in Jamaica, Kingston first gained international fame with his 2007 hit song, Beautiful Girls. His success continued in the 2010s, but includes popular collaborations Justin Bieber And then appearing on the hit Disney Channel show Deck Suite Life and Dylan and Cole Sprouse.
After the conviction was read on March 28th, Turner was immediately taken into custody, and Kingston was ordered to house arrest under electronic surveillance. The two shared an emotional embrace as Turner was led into federal custody. Both Kingston and Turner are scheduled to be sentenced July 11th.

Previous conviction for Janice Turner’s fraud
Turner was accused by a judge of being the “fixer and neurological center” behind the scheme involving her and her son, and was previously convicted of a similar crime that suggested she had a central role. She previously served in prison for a year and a half after pleading guilty to stealing more than $160,000 in a bank fraud scheme in 2006.

Turner was ordered to be detained at the Broward County Jail, based on her testimony during trial, after a judge deemed her a flight risk.
Accusations against Sean Kingston and his mother
Kingston was arrested in May 2024 at Fort Irwin, California, following a warrant issued by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. The SWAT team raided their home on a farm in the southwest, a Broward community. He was convicted of all five counts.
The pair scam multiple businesses, including multiple jewellers, TV installments and high-end car dealers. The total amount of items they obtained was over $1 million, according to prosecutors.
