Nipsey Hussle’s younger sister, Samantha Ashgedom and mother Angelique Smith decided to resign as Emmani’s co-star, making his younger brother Sam Ashgedom the sole guardian of the family.
The court currently grants joint physical and legal custody to both Tanisha and Sam, with Emmani spending 60% of her mother and time with her uncle for the rest.
According to the court’s ruling, Tanisha and Sam share equal rights to make decisions that serve Emmani’s best interests, and Tanisha retains parental rights regarding Emmani.
The agreement outlines Emmani resides in both parties to the current residence. It also stipulates that Emmani will remain involved in all ongoing “academic and extracurricular activities” while caring for Tanisha and Sam.

The joint provision was submitted on Wednesday, March 5th, involving Nipsey Hussle’s family, as reported by In Touch. The document was signed by his brother, SA. His sister, Samantha. his mother, Angelique. and Tanisha.

Previous demands to retire Sam from Tanisha have been abandoned.
The rapper’s ex-wife encountered quite a set time in her legal case after Los Angeles Superior Court denied her request to deposit Nipesy’s brother.
As the blast shares, court documents show that the judge dismissed her petition, citing that there was no sufficient evidence to support her request.
The current disputes have lasted for over a year, with many applications being compiled significantly. Since the tragic death of Nipsey at 33 on March 31, 2019, his family has taken on the role of Emani’s co-service.
Unfortunately for her, the court date, which was previously set for February 25th, has also been cancelled. But it’s all in the past as she’s now getting her daughter back.

The rapper previously believed that Nipesy’s family arrangement was Emmani’s biggest concern.

Tanisha filed a petition to end guardianship of her daughter Emmani, explaining that she initially agreed, considering it to be Emmani’s greatest interest after Nippy Hassle’s tragic death. After years of legal struggle against guardianship, she eventually filed a petition in 2022 to end it.
Her mother cited her financial difficulties and her strong desire to provide Emmani with the stable environment she once had.
Tanisha acknowledged the broken promises from Nipesi’s family regarding her relationship with her daughter, and claimed she felt relieved that Emmani’s welfare would be given priority.

In her petition, she argued that Nipesy’s family used their wealth and influence to limit visitation rights and financial support, and hinder Emmani’s ability to actively engage in life.
Tanisha was deeply eager to regain Emmani’s primary parent role. She urged the court to end guardianship and argued that there was no circumstances in her life to prevent her from being with her daughter.

Emmani’s struggle for guardianship involved considerable effort from his family, especially his brothers and sisters. Nipsey’s sister, Samantha, voiced concerns about Emmani’s mother’s ability to raise her child, then began a legal process to secure guardianship.
In her application, Samantha highlighted Emmani’s dedication to happiness and the importance of her maintaining her connection with Nippy’s family.
There was considerable opposition from Tanisha, but Nipei’s family ultimately won in court. In October 2019, the judge appointed them a legal guardian of Emmani to confirm that they had a stable and supportive home.
