Unrice’s Mayfair Witch Season 3 has been updated and will be held in Salem
Thomas Schnauz, known for his work on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, joined the series as a co-showrunner. He works with returned co-creator and showrunner Estaspolding.
Season 3 explores deeper elements of magic mythology and introduces new family of spells. It also incorporates historical themes tied to Salem, the infamous 17th-century witch trial site. “It’s a modern twist on the Salem story, it promises to be our most delicious,” Spalding (via deadline). The new setting follows the first two seasons based in New Orleans, with the second season ending on March 2nd.
Dan McDermott, president of Entertainment and AMC Studios, said, “The drama and complexity of the Mayfair family remains a source of fascinating and fascinating stories, and expanding that story against the background of Salem, a historic heaven of witchcraft, is an exciting next chapter.” Schnauz said, “The work I’ve done so far in Season 3 of Estaspolding is wonderful and fun, and hopefully leads to the screens of fans and new viewers of the show.”
Alexandra Daddario is back as Rowan, with cast members Harry Hamlin and Tontony Chilisa rejoining. Rowan’s journey continues after the season 2 finale, where she reaches a new level of power. Spalding told a Hollywood reporter, “When you have power, you can’t act like a good girl sitting in your hands, as she says.”
Spalding, Schnauz, Mark Johnson, Michelle Ashford, and Tom Williams will executive produce Season 3.
