For a while, Roger had maintained a close friendship with the late singer, consistently denied responsibility for the tragedy, claiming that Argentine authorities had unfairly targeted him as a “scapegoat.”
He emphasized that he visited the hotel three times on the day of the incident and left 40 minutes before it happened, noting that he chatted and joked with Liam when more than 15 people left in the lobby.
“I might not have imagined something like this would happen,” Roger said. He claimed he was not a singer’s manager, but a very dear friend.
