Cage’s sudden cash-in transformed the match into a triple threat showdown at the AEW World Championships. Wasting time, Cage tightened his spear and hit him with the kill switch for the pin. However, Moxley plunges into the bulldog choke and locks the cage.

Christian Cage struggled, but eventually passed away, causing the referee to stop the match, allowing John Moxley to maintain the world championship with a dramatic finish. However, Moxley’s celebration was short-lived. His next challenger, Swerve Strickland, attacked him with Swerve Stomp, sending a clear message to the champions.
