“It was rough and full of clams,” Bridges laughs at the once-lost tape. “But they loved it.” What began as a casual improvisation night among friends turned into a full-fledged songwriting session, with the bridge smacking the sound adjacent to the dreamy doo-wop that still feels magical, nearly 50 years later.
Bridges also reflects his work with legends like Burges Meredith, who provides a wordpiece that is spoken to for the album. He remembers writing inspired music Crazy HeartI’m fantasizing about a King Kong Sequels, and even jam with Bob Dylan Mask and anonymity. “He knocked on my trailer and said, ‘Do you want to choose?'” Bridge smirked. “My hands were shaking.”
Going forward, Oscar winners will tease Terry Gilliam and new projects in the future Tron: AresWhile leaving the door open for future music. “I don’t know what’s next,” he says the guitar next to him. “I’ll pick it up and see what happens.”
