Lukas Haas (First Man) shared his experience with Warner Bros. with director Christopher Nolan and his longtime friend Leonardo Dicaprio. Acclaimed sci-fi action film Inception. In the 2010 film, Haas played the role of Nash. Nash was featured as an architect under the team of Domcob at DiCaprio. However, after betraying the team, he was eventually replaced by Elliot Page’s Ariadne.
Inception was written and directed by Nolan. It centers around thieves who have the ability to enter people’s dreams and steal secrets from their subconscious. The cast included Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Ken Watanabe and Chilean Murphy. The film won four Academy Awards, including the best filming and the best visual effects.
Lukas Haas recalls his experiences in filming
In a recent interview with Comingsoon, Haas recalled how incredible it was to work with Nolan during the filming in various locations around the world.
“It was incredible. What a cool experience. It was obviously incredible to work with Chris. He’s one of the best directors out there,” he said. “But it was just a cool experience as we were traveling. The little work I did with the film was like a little bit of Tokyo, London, Los Angeles somewhere in Morocco. So it was amazing. You never travel like that, and you’re working on great films at the same time. It was certainly a truly epic experience.”
Additionally, Haas also shared a fun behind the scenes story about his scene with DiCaprio, featuring Haas’s character slaps the Oscar winner. In addition to Inception, Haas and Dicaprio previously starred together in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s epic drama The Revenant in 2015.
“It was fun. But honestly, I was a bit nervous about slap him. I’m very (not a physical guy), I’m not a combat type guy,” he recalls. “I’m not really. So he said, ‘Now, buddy, you can hit me hard. You can hit me harder than that.” So the way I had to like was really slapping him and slapping him. ”
