Ryan Condal of House of the Dragon Showrunner responded to previous criticism of George RR Martin’s previous show, saying that the legendary author is not going to understand the problems of turning the book into a television show.
What did Dragon Showrunner’s House say about George RR Martin?
Speaking in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Condor was opened up about Martin’s latest criticism. Last year, the author wrote on his blog that he would share “everything is wrong” with the show, which appeared to be pretty critical in the second season of the series.
The command said it was “unfortunate” to see criticism. Especially because he was a lifelong fan of Martin’s work.
“It was a shame,” Command said. “I’ve been a fan of A Ice and Fire Songs for nearly 25 years and working on the show is one of the privileges that fits not only in my career as a writer, but my life as a science fiction and fantasy fan, and a literary icon, along with my personal heroes, and has influenced my life as a writer. ”
As far as the show might have been wrong, Condal points out that he believes that Fire and Blood, the work on which the Dragon House is based, Martin doesn’t fully understand that the book needed a more relaxed form of adaptation, as it was a variety of historical texts, rather than an outspoken novel.
“This is this incomplete history and when you go along the way, you need a lot of bonds of dots and a lot of inventions,” Command said. “I simply put every effort into including George in the adaptation process. For years, I really did it. And we really enjoyed mutually fruitful things, I’ve enjoyed really strong collaborations for a long time. At the same time, I’m wearing a charming hat.”
The command continued, saying at the end of the day the project must continue to move forward, and that George hopes to “rediscover” the harmony between both.
“At the end of the day, you need to continue marching not only forward the writing process, but also practical parts of the process for the crew, the cast and the HBO, because that’s my job.
