Dragon’s House Season 3 showrunner Ryan Commando shared some new and exciting details about the upcoming article in HBO’s acclaimed Game of Thrones spinoff. This comes seven months after the show concluded its eight-episode second season.
What did Ryan Commando say about the house in Dragon Season 3?
In a recent interview, Condal confirmed that production at the house of Dragon Season 3 is expected to begin “in a few weeks” as the creative team completed the script for the upcoming article. Additionally, he also teased the introduction of several major new characters, revealing that fans should expect “four major events” to be adapted to the screen from the book.
“We’ll start filming in a few weeks,” he said. “As the actors embody the characters, it becomes much easier to write in a more interesting way, because you really know them. In season 3, you write for those you know, so there’s shape and depth right out of the gate. There are some major new characters this season, but 85% already know who they are, and writing is much more rewarding.”
Condor continued. “Season 2 is huge. Season 3 is Huger in many ways. By counting quickly on stage, there are four major events from the book that can be adapted and realized in three dimensions of this season. It’s really exciting in terms of range and scale and I think the show really works. What we’re building is daunting. But what I’m most excited about from a dramatic perspective is that I’m having a bit of fun this season and there are conceptual episodes. That means it’s not the traditional slang of what I laid out as a Dragon House structure. It’s very character-driven and I think it’s really great, and I’m really looking forward to seeing it rendered.”
House of the Dragon Season 3 will be re-occupied with cast members Emmercy, Matt Smith as Demon, Olivia Cook as Alicent, Risoufan as Otto, Steve Tousan as Corries, Sonoyamizno as Mysaria, Fabien Frankel, Christon Colette, Harley Colette, Harley Colette, Mitchell as Amond, Bethany Antonia of Baella, Phoebe Campbell, and more including Laena, Fear Savan, Tom Taylor as Helena, Tom Taylor as Clegan Stark, Tom Bennett as Wolf White, and Freddie Fox as Sel Gwain.
The first part records the rise and fall of Targaryen, the only family of Dragon Lords to survive the fate of Valyria. The spinoff is created by Martin and showrunner Ryan Condor. He produces alongside Sarah Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin De La Noy, Roni Perister and Vince Geraldis.
