Harvey Weinstein I recently created a support headline Justin Bardoni In his legal battle with Blake Lively and the New York Times. The former producer, currently in prison, compared Bardoni’s case with his own past media experience.
Here’s why Weinstein chose to back up Baldoni and how it links it to his legal battle with Lively:
Why Harvey Weinstein is choosing Justin Bardoni, who surpasses Blake Lively
Speaking from the prison, Weinstein told TMZ on April 9, 2025 that he “doed the same thing” to him during the time that Bardoni allegedly did.
Bardoni sued the New York Times for $250 million. He argues that the December 2024 article in the publication is “full of inaccuracies.” Weinstein said Bardoni’s lawsuit was “hard and violent.” “It regained everything I went through when the Times reported it to me in 2017,” he added, referring to NYT’s story about sexual harassment allegations against him.
Bardoni also filed a $400 million delinquent and terror lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. Lively sues Bardoni for sexual harassment and retaliation, claiming that onset misconduct in the intervening will end with us. “This is not a “feud” that arises from “creative differences”… Wayfarer and his companions are engaged in illegal, retaliatory constellations against Mr. Live” (via Variety). The lawsuit continues, with a trial scheduled for next year.
Weinstein said similarities between Bardoni’s claims and his experience with the Times in 2017, and that “I should have had the courage to oppose the way the truth was twisted. That failure still plagues me.” Megan Twohey, who reported on Weinstein in 2017, also signed a 2024 Baldoni-Lively article. The Times defended the investigation into Weinstein, saying it used interviews, settlements and documents to “report the story in detail,” adding that “the facts of our reporting are not contested.”
Weinstein remains on Rikers Island as he awaits a retrial after overturning his 2020 conviction in 2024. He also faces another 16-year prison sentence from a California case.
