Figment Show Teased by Bob Iger, Seth Rogen Movie Remains Uncertain

Figment is a Disney character featured in his Journey to the Imagination in Figment Themain Park Ride at Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort. The Small Purple Dragon was created in 1983 by Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk, among other collaborators.

What did Bob Iger say about the potential figment show?

According to a Hollywood reporter, Iger was asked if he had plans to use the figment in some form outside the theme park.

Iger said, “This is my 24th grade. It’s my 18th year. It’s my 18th year as CEO. I think I’ve been asked about 15 questions about the figment. I know he’s popular with shareholders. The fact that they always ask him questions about him. The Figment clearly means that he’s more popular than just the walkaround characters in our parks and resorts.”

In September 2022, Deadline reported that Seth Rogen’s Point Gray was working on a Disney film about Figment. Dan Hernandez and Benji Summit were published as authors. There has been little news about the project since then, but it is unclear what developments are currently in place.

Figment has made minor cameo appearances in both Inside Out in 2015 and Toy Story 4 in 2019. He has also been featured in many products sold at Epcot.

Additionally, there was a five-part comic book miniseries released in 2014, titled Disney Kingdoms: Figment. Then there was a sequel that came in 2015.
