“I wasn’t actually part of the re-shoot,” Elizabeth Olsen said in an exclusive interview with a playlist about Doctor Strange in the Madness Multiverse. “I was filming the love and death of filming (HBO’s limited series), so what I did was stay. I think there were a lot of re-shoots, but it really doesn’t have anything to do with what I did.” Olsen revealed that the filmmaker established her character’s arc as Scarlet Witch during the main shoot and did not make any changes during the additional photo shoot.
She showed that the team planned to portray Wanda Maximoff as the villain from the start. “It was an interesting turn, but I was excited to really taste it, not toe on it,” Olsen explained. “I thought it was a bit tasty. I thought it was a fun opportunity.”
According to the report, there will be re-shoots focusing on the Illuminati lineup and revised opening. The original cut features a scar-colored witch beheading Earth 616 Karl Mold, and the scene was later removed. Director Sam Raimi and writer Michael Waldron began their film work without seeing Wanda Vision.
When asked about Wanda’s future in the MCU, Olsen shared the pitch she had made to Marvel. “You know, when you think about my dream version (Wanda’s), it’s like 50 years later, and I have white hair (a big, huge white wig, etc.). “And I’m like the creature they find. That’s how I imagine Wanda’s next journey.”
“It’s literally what I pitched,” she continued. “It’s because it’s so much fun to do that. I mean, in one of the comics, she’s aging very quickly. These are the images that are next embedded in my brain, since I’m not doing it.”
