There’s yet another update as authorities try to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a retired baseball star Brett Garnderteenage son, Mirror Gardner.
The Costa Rica resort, where Miller died, denied claims that carbon monoxide poisoning led to his death.

Costa Rican authorities suggest that carbon monoxide poisoning is behind Miller Gardner’s death
The resort’s statement is a video address shared on the YouTube page of the Costa Rica judicial investigator, and is different from the statement of Randall Zúñiga.
In a statement, Zuniga, the agency’s general director, revealed that the “dangerous atmosphere” team had detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the Gardner’s room at the resort.
Zuniga said, “At the time, a high level of carbon monoxide contamination was detected in that room. It leads us to a line of investigations where this person (the mirror) may have died from inhaling these very dangerous gases,” Zuniga said.

He also notified the agency of the fire department and the Ministry of Health about the development, adding that “they have to wait for the final results of forensic toxicology, and that they must determine exactly the cause of the death of this young man.”

The FBI is helping to investigate the cause of Brett Gardner’s son’s death

Zuniga also revealed that the FBI is “closely coordinated” with the investigation.

The Gardners can wait up to 90 days for Miller’s autopsy results

Before carbon monoxide poisoning was proposed as a possible cause of Miller’s death, authorities first theorized that he had died from food poisoning-related asphyxiation, causing them to believe he had suffocated the vomit.
However, the theory was dropped after no blockage was found in his wind pipe.
Another possibility investigated was that Miller had an allergic reaction to medications he took after receiving treatment from a doctor after reporting to the resort that he had become ill.
While only an autopsy can provide the critical cause of death, Brett Gardner and his family may have to wait up to three months before obtaining the results that have been performed.

The reason for the long delay is due to an unprecedented surge in gang-related murders that clogged Costa Rica’s forensic system and produced enormous backlog cases.

Brett and his wife, Jessica Gardner, issued a statement shortly after Miller’s death. “A heartfelt, we are saddened to announce the death of our youngest son, Miller,” the statement began. “He was 14 and left us as soon as he got sick with some other family members on vacation.”
The couple continued, “There are very few questions and answers at this point, but I know that he passed away peacefully in sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st.”
They described Miller as “a beloved son and brother,” saying, “We still can’t understand our lives without an infectious smile. He loved soccer, baseball, golf, hunting, fishing, his family, and his friends.

Brett and Jessica thanked everyone who supported and encouraged them in their difficult circumstances and expressed their confidence that they would help their “faith, family, friends” “navigate this unimaginable loss.”
They said, “Our prayers go out to Miller’s teammates and friends, and all other families who have lost their children as soon as they share their grief. Respect our privacy wishes as we grieve and look for healing.”
Brett and his family have since received Miller’s body.
