Chris Brown Cites Relocation To Counter Ex-Housekeeper's Evading Deposition Claims In $90 Million Lawsuit

The legal team of R&B singers revealed that he recently moved from Los Angeles, making it impossible for him to physically appear in legal questioning.

Chris Brown’s housekeeper dragged him to court in 2020 after claiming that the dog brutally attacked her while working from home.

At a recent court hearing, Chris revealed his move to Nevada and urged the judge not to impose sanctions on him. He and his legal team strongly rebutted Maria’s claim that he was stalling the deposit process in her case.

Maria, who claims that Chris’s dog had hurt her forever, claims that she had been trying to finalize the date of his deposition for several months. According to her, Chris’s new legal team informed her that he no longer resides in California and was unable to attend the in-person deposition.

She also alleged that his previous lawyer had not notified her of his movements. According to contact details, she sought court intervention to force him to look and demanded $7,560 sanctions for delays.

In response, Chris’ legal representatives said they had moved to reject Maria’s sanctions request and began representing him in August 2024.

They explained that they were actively working to schedule Chris’ deposition, denying that they intentionally missed the advance deposition without proper notice to Maria’s attorney.

The legal team noted that Chris had a busy schedule as a touring musician, particularly that he limited his availability during the fall and winter of 2024 and early 2025.

The singer’s legal team revealed that Chris offered to abdicate in Nevada within 75 miles of her home but had not received a response from the court.

Chris’s lawyer concluded by stating that the delay in organizing his deposit was due to scheduling and procedural challenges. His team argued that it was not intentional misconduct from their end, and urged the court to deny Maria’s demand for financial sanctions.

As the explosion shares, the former housekeeper previously requested a court hearing to address various loopholes in her case. She aimed to step down singers and representatives from his company, Black Pyramid LLC. However, the parties refused to provide witnesses to the deposition process.

Maria’s lawyers emphasized that she had been trying to arrange a date for the singer’s deposition for over a year. Despite reaching out to the singers six times in February and March, they have not received a positive response.

In her lawsuit, the former housekeeper recounted the incident in which Chris was attacked by a large ochre/white shepherd dog to which she belonged. At the time, she worked with her sister Patricia Avila at a home in Los Angeles.

She recalled that the attack happened while she was dumping the trash. The dog is biting from a considerable portion of her skin, as defined by the evidence of her injury, along with the demand for $90 million in damages from the artist.

Patricia also launched a lawsuit seeking compensation for the emotional pain she experienced after witnessing her sister Maria’s attack. In response, the singer denied all allegations and changed the story, claiming that Maria essentially invited the injuries she claimed.

His legal team claimed that Maria fully understood the risks involved, and that her actions were responsible for inducing the dog to attack her.

The team added that they knew that the aforementioned actions could have caused the dog to attack her and seriously injured her. Both are said to have happened.”
