Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has increased the theatrical release date for Dr. Seuss’ adaptation. Cat in a hat. The animated film led by cats was scheduled to appear on March 6th, 2026. And now it will premiere a week earlier.
Cat in Hats will move release dates until February 2026
The Warner Bros Cat Animated Film was announced on February 27, 2026, not a week after it was previously announced. Hader originally joined the cast in March 2024. He also produced the film.
The project came to shape after Warner Animation Group acquired the rights to the Cat in the Hat as part of a creative deal with Seuss Enterprises. Initially, Erica Livinoha and Art Hernandez were obsessed with the project as directors, but the latter at one point decorated the project, with Alessandro Carloni taking his place. Carloni also wrote the script in rivinoja.
In addition to Hader, the voice cast also includes Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez and Matt Berry.
The logline for this feature reads, “The cat is taking on his toughest mission… to cheer on a pair of brothers who are struggling to move to a new town.”
Released in 1957, Dr. Seuss’ original book received several adaptations. In 2003, a live-action adaptation from Universal Pictures was announced, with Mike Myers playing the main character. The film received mainly negative reactions from critics and delivered lukewarm water at the box office. Furthermore, Dr. Seuss’ widow criticized the film, saying that Hollywood would never again adapt Dr. Seuss’ character to live action. (via Today.com)

Pictures Animation was announced, Studio President Bildamaschke said, “We are delighted to work with Dr. Seuss’ friends to bring audiences of all ages on our adventure into the beloved world of the Hat Cat.” (Depending on deadline)
