White lotus Creator Mike White is firing fire on composer Cristobal Tapia Devia.
Cristóbal Tapia de Veer has worked on all three seasons of HBO’s The White Lotus. However, earlier this month, the composer announced that he had been leaving the show ahead of Season 4. He told The New York Times that there have been creative disagreements since season one.
What did Mike White say about the composer who left White Lotus before Season 4?
White worked on comments from his previous composer during an interview with The Howard Stern Shaw. Through variety, he said, “I honestly don’t know what happened, but I’m reading his interviews because he decided to do a PR campaign about leaving the show. I don’t think he respects me.
“We never even fought. He doesn’t think we fought him. I was giving him notes except maybe a few emails. He didn’t like going through the process of getting notes from me. AB-Move.”
White further said that Cristobal Tapia de Vert “didn’t want to do the process with me” or “go to the session” as they were working on White Lotus Season 3.
“He would always look at me with this light empty smirk on his face, like I thought I was a chimpanzee or something,” White commented. “He definitely does a big deal from creative differences… he is extremely talented. (But) I’ve never kissed someone’s ass just to take him to him – to lead that horse into the water.
