Ted Lasso Season 4 Official, Jason Sudeikis Issues Statement on Return

After months of speculation, Apple TV+ has finally announced Ted Lasso Season 4 of the highly acclaimed comedy drama series has been renewed. It has also been confirmed that Emmy winner Jason Sudeikis has officially changed his honorable role as AFC Richmond’s beloved football coach. At the end of the season 3 finale, the character was last seen by fans leaving the club after the team failed to win the league. He decided to return to America, where he became coach of his son’s soccer team.

At this point, Sudeikis is the only official cast member of Season 4. However, Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt are currently in negotiations to reprise their respective roles as Keeley Jones and Brendan Hunt. Meanwhile, in August 2024 it was confirmed that Warner Bros. TV had previously secured the right to revive Hannah Wadingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift.

Sudeikis shared a statement regarding the Ted Lasso Season 4 update and teased what to expect from the much-anticipated next article. For his major performance in season 3, he received Best Actor nominations from the Emmy and Golden Globes.

“We all live in a world where so many factors condition us to “see before we jump,” Sudekis said in a statement. “In season 4, the people at AFC Richmond learn to jump before they see them and discover wherever they land, that’s exactly where they should be.”

Ted Lasso follows an American soccer coach who was hired to manage the UK soccer team despite his lack of experience. Sudeikis first portrayed the character in 2013 as part of a promotional video for NBC Sports. This series was developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly. It’s an executive produced by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer, and has 30-lock Jack Burjitt.
