Dwight Howard’s custody battle runs deep
Howard’s custody war for his daughter is his first in court. Before the legal battle with the 2023 rendering, he was caught up in a conflict in another family. This time, we’re looking at the right to visit my son David.
In 2020, Edelmira Vega Rios, mother of Howard’s late ex-girlfriend Melissa Rios, demanded that David be the right to stay in life and took legal action. She argued that she has been a constant presence since his birth and that it was his greatest benefit to maintain their bond.
Edelmira’s petitions have sometimes surpassed visits. She asked for regular time with David, including during his schooling. She made it clear that she wanted an active role in his development, not just limited contact.
With the charges flying, the Dwight Howard custody fight for his daughter is becoming even more troublesome.
