Apple TV+ shares the official Government cheese A trailer for a surrealistic family comedy starring Golden Globe nominee David Oiellow. The Ten-Episode series is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, April 16th with its first four episodes. New episodes will then continue from every Wednesday until May 28, 2025.

In this video, we present Oiello as a family man who has decided to make his family’s life better after being released from prison. However, his journey to chasing his American dreams unexpectedly took him to some surreal situations, making his plans even more complicated. In addition to leading the cast, Oyelow is also executive producer through Yoruba Saxon Banner.
Government Cheese was created by showrunners Paul Hunter and Aeysha Carr, written by executives and directed by Hunter. The ensemble cast also includes Jean Michel Richard, London Garcia, Girari Les Colour, Bokime Woodbine, Jeremy Bob, Louis Kanselmi, Julien Herron, Girari Les Colour, Louis Ferreira, Thomas Beedin, John Ortiz and Adam Beach. Executive producers are Charles D. King, Jelani Johnson and Ari Brown.
“Set in the 1969 San Fernando Valley, the film tells the story of Chambers, an eccentric family that pursues dreams that are noble and seemingly impossible, not beautiful in the world’s reality,” reads the official summary. “When Hampton Chambers (Oiello) is released from prison, his long-awaited family reunion does not go as planned. During his absence, Hampton’s wife Astoria (Mythic), Sands Einstein (Ellison) and Harrison (Dialo Winston) formed an unconventional family unit, and Hampton’s return led their world into chaos.”
